If you are looking for great seating solutions there are not as many providers as you might think. Lot and lots of companies made seats and chairs, but when it comes to ergonomically correct, high-performance, fully-adjustable, made-to-last, great seating the selection is limited.

So, if you are looking to invest in great seating, who do you choose? It doesn't matter if you are buying one unit or a thousand, you will still be limited to the same companies- quantity should determine where you buy (or who you buy from), not what you buy.

1. Knoll - Knoll may be known for their high-end modern furniture, but they have a full line of ergonomic products. As far as seating is concerned, their flagship is the Life Chair which is popular and critically acclaimed. Their more affordable chair, the Chadwick, has also gotten rave reviews, but it is not nearly as impressive as the Life Chair. Other models available from them include the Open Up and then less modern looking models, like the Bulldog, RPM, SoHo, and Sapper.

2. Herman Miller - Herman Miller is the biggest name in performance seating in the USA. This is due in no small part to the wild success of their Aeron chair, which is the best known example of performance seating. They have a number of other notable models, though, including the Celle, Mirra, Equa 2, Ergon 2, and Reaction. Herman Miller also works with the famous designer, Bill Stumpf.

3. Steelcase - Steelcase makes a number of fine seating products, the most famous of which is the Leap. Aside from this chair, they make a number of practical and affordable products, more than most of the competition.
